Dover United Network to Feed Our Community
Mayor Carolyn Blackman, the Board of Aldermen, and faith-based leaders from six churches and non-profit leaders in the Town of Dover have partnered to establish the Dover United Network (Dover U.N.), which is a volunteer coalition. The main mission of this coalition is to feed our residents during this time of crisis and need.
All six churches will donate food pantry services for our residents, so they can pick up a variety of grocery items based on availability to prepare meals at home. The churches will also provide personal hygiene items for males and females of all ages, as well as diapers for babies and toddlers. Three out of the five churches will provide take-out meals at scheduled dates and times. All member churches and non-profits will work in close coordination with the Town of Dover and Dover U.N. volunteers to deliver food and personal hygiene items to residents who need delivery.
The Dover U.N. will continue to reach out to every church in Dover, so that each one has the option to join the coalition and contribute to the health, safety, and welfare of our community via the foodbank and meals program. Updates on new member churches will be provided in future communications.
